Where I am From By Naif Aljeddani
I am from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. My country is big. It has 14 states. Most of my country does not have good looking places because it’s mostly a desert. Some states have good looking scenery and beautiful weather. I live in Jeddah City. Dahban Village. It’s a beautiful village. Many people of this village work in fishing. Some people work at farming. And some people work driving trucks. My village has school and a police station. My family is big. My great grandfather is dead. I have four uncles and I have two aunts. My father is 49 years old. My mother is dead. I have three brothers and two sisters. I’m married. My wife is Hessa. She is beautiful. She is pregnant.

  1. I had not heard of Jeddah City before reading your entry. Thank you for teaching me something new. I want to know more about your home and village.

  4. It's a big move from Saudi Arabia and the desert to the Pacific coast of Oregon! The landscape is very lush and green where you are now but the desert isn't less beautiful to me - just very, very different. I used to live in San Diego, California where it's also very dry. I love the way you can see the ground everywhere in the desert, like seeing the bones of the land.

How very exciting to have a new baby on the way. All best wishes to you and your wife on your new adventure!!

  5. Naif, I love that you sent the link to family. You are so fortunate to have close relations with such caring people. Tell Hessa hello from all of us. Teter

  6. How lucky you and your family live so close to Mecca; how many times have you been on the Hajj? I have always wanted to learn more about the Hajj; maybe you could tell us a bit more? Shukran, Sheila
